YEAR 2
MISS DE LA HAYE

Year 2 is taught by Miss de la Haye, who is an enthusiastic teacher who loves to make learning fun and strives to make sure that children enjoy coming to school and learning lots of interesting things. It is really important to Miss de la Haye that children have opportunities to develop resilience in all situations, and to be able to confidently express themselves. Miss de la Haye’s favourite subject is History, because she loves to see how things have changed throughout time, especially fashion!

We have two wonderful Teaching Assistants in Year Two. Mrs Gray and Mrs Alcock both help support learning in class and also sometimes work with small groups throughout the day.

A fun fact about Mrs Gray is that she loves art and being creative!

A fun fact about Mrs Alcock is that she loves the outdoors!

HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS

In Year 2, children will bring home Maths homework on a Thursday. The children will be given questions to recap on previous learning in class. If they complete their Maths homework and bring it in for the following Monday, they will earn an extra smiley.

Children will also be expected to read at home 5 times a week, logged in their reading record, and complete a reading activity in their reading journals. Doing both of these will earn them 2 extra smileys.

During the half term holidays, children will be set half term projects to complete, based on their learning in class. Completing this will earn the children up to 3 smileys each.
